How long will my son be at The SOAR Program?
Our minimum length of stay is 90 days. After 90 days the Clinical Team will evaluate the client’s progress for discharge or extended stay.
Some programs are only 30 days, why does the SOAR Program require 90 days?
We do not simply address addiction from a physical point of view. We work with our clients to bring about healing on a physical, mental and spiritual level. We provide our clients with the tools needed to face life on life’s terms without the use of drugs and alcohol... We do not believe this can be accomplished in 30 days.
We believe adolescents are resilient and can and will endure for 30 days. However, healing on a physical, mental and spiritual level takes time. We at the SOAR program believe the use of alcohol and drugs is not the problem, but a temporary solution to problems for the adolescent. We focus on getting to the core issues so that these young men can face life on life’s terms without the use of drugs and alcohol.
We carefully plan an individualized treatment program with each client. This individualized plan of care includes a plan for successful transition back into life after treatment with support systems in place.
How is The SOAR Program different from other programs?
The SOAR Program is unique on many levels. First and foremost, we specialize in adolescent males. We created our program specifically for teenage boys. We understand their world and meet them where they are. We focus on a spiritual foundation as the solid ground to begin the journey of recovery. If the foundation is solid it will hold-up under the pressure of this journey. Our staff members are hired based on their ability to relate to teenagers. Our environment is non institutional and has the warm atmosphere of a home away from home.
Will my son go to school while he is in treatment?
Yes, all high school appropriate clients of The SOAR Program are enrolled in the Pittsburg Independent School District. PISD provides a teacher to oversee the boys as they continue their current high school classes through an individualized online program called Nova Net.
